My review of The Host by Stephenie Meyer

THE HOST
By Stephenie Meyer

Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that takes over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.
Wanderer, the invading 'soul' who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.

Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.

MY THOUGHTS…

The Host is a fast paced action book with aliens and danger. My kind of book!

What do you do when you’re an alien with a human inside your head, and you don’t trust your fellow aliens? You change sides of course. Join the humans on the run to survival and help them along the way.

This is what Wanda did and what makes her one of my favourite characters. She, with persuading from Melanie, treks across the desert and puts her life, and Melanie's, in the trust of the humans, a different species. But she wins them over and becomes friends with them, especially Melanie's little brother, Jamie, and Ian, who are my other favourite characters.

I loved reading this book, and I Highly Recommend this book to YA readers and adults because it is suitable for anyone wanting some action and aliens.
